He doesn't have to use it all at once. Alternatively, the paladin can use some or all of these points to deal damage to undead creatures as a touch attack.

Description and Personality:  Gabrilan is a follower of Dracanish, a lawful neutral death god that believes that the dead are sacred and therefore hates undead as an abomination of the natural order. Although his deity's favored weapon is the scimitar, he weilds a longsword for its greater power, particularly undead (which are unaffected by a scimitar's greater chance to score critical hits). He is a quiet man, and humble, choosing to lead by example rather than by overt action. When undead are found, however, he becomes the traditional image of paladinhood--valor, honor, and unswerving dedication to the cause of destroying all evil. He has worked with Fron in the past but is frowns at the other man's grimness, for Gabrilan enjoys the world of the living and savors every moment of it so that when the time comes for him to join his deity in body and spirit he will have no regrets about missing the joys of life. Gabrilan dresses in black and bronze (the colors of his deity) and wears arms and armor that he forged himself. He is a friend to any ally of his church and is sometimes sent to recruit others to its service, particularly in the role of undead-slayers.
Ghostwalk connection: Dracanish is one of the two main deities in the city of Manifest in the Ghostwalk setting.
