    Demon Qualities: Immune to poision and electricity; cold, fire, and acid resistance 20; can communicate telepathically with any creature within 100 ft. that has a language (except dretches).
    Gear: +3 chainmail, +1 bashing large steel shield (does slashing instead of piercing damage), +1 heavy mace, ring of protection +1, brooch of shielding (30 hit points), potion of cure serious wounds, belt of spider climbing (as slippers), 22 gp.
    History and Personality: Phaast is a demonic lieutenant in the armies of Orcus. He rose from the ranks of the demonic brutes and trained hard under several generals. Respectful of power but ultimately loyal only to himself, Phaast serves Orcus because the prince is the most powerful being he has ever encountered. His role in battles is to pierce enemy formations and allow lesser troops to pass through into the less protected rear forces of the enemy. Phaast is an apelike demon with large horns on his forehead, and may be descended from a nalfeshnee demon. His armor and mace are simple, but his signature item is his large bashing shield that bears a large blade along one end and a skull symbol on the front. He rarely speaks except when he howls in the midst of battle.

Ghostwalk connection: Phaast is a good mid/high level demonic adversary for the heroes. Orcus is the main evil deity in the setting.
