I used this mini in an adventure I wrote published in Dungeon issue #120.

This is a carnivorous ape. I painted a bunch of ape minis (from Reaper, Black Orc, and Superfigs) with basically the same colors so they'd look related, or at least from the same family unit. Fur is Walnut drybrushed with Woodland Brown, with the fur on the front side given a very light drybrush of Hill Giant Brown to make the front (and especially the face) stand out a little better. Teeth and the big bone are Ivory with Linen White over that. The blood in the mouth is Blood Red. The bloodstains on the bone are Maroon, with some Blood Red, and a little bit of Firehawk, to make it look like it was somewhat fresh and still drying. The base is flocked in some sort of herb I got at the store (I want to say oregano). The base is really built up because even though I put this guy on a washer, he was still a little front-heavy and tended to tip forward, so I put another washer undearneath at an angle and gummed the whole thing up with greenstuff.
