A pair of dire wolves, which I painted up as Cerberean Hounds (a new monster I created, huge wolflike offspring of Cerberus). Simple paint job. Base coat black, light drybrush across the back and lower legs with a dark blue, followed by a mid-gray drybrush on the face and shoulders and a lighter gray across the snout and brow. Cerberus had a snake tail, while these guys have tails that drip poison, so I drybrushed the tails Kilt Green and Emerald Green. Eyes are fire Glow. Teeth are Ivory and white. Bases are flocked with poppy seeds. I used these in my New Argonauts campaign to represent ... Cerberean Hounds. One thing I really like about this pair of minis (they come two to a package) is that they're slightly different sculpts so they don't look identical. It would have been really easy to make the set two copies of the same mini, but Reaper chose to commission two different sculpts. A nice touch. |
