Shirts, mugs, and other stuff from CafePress.
Core Beliefs: Boccob
A long article about Boccob and his church, appearing in Dragon issue 338 (December 2005).
Vault of the Whispering Tyrant
A set of four two-sided terrain cards (1" = 5 ft. in minis scale), a mini-adventure, and three unpainted minis for use in that adventure. Published by Paizo Publishing, the fine folks who do Dragon Magazine and Dungeon Magazine.
Champions of Valor
A campaign sourcebook for the Forgotten Realms, giving advice to players and DMs on playing or providing challenges for valorous characters (not just good characters, but valorous ones -- the real go-getters). Has a good mix of rules and non-rules material, including substitution levels for many paladin orders, a couple of prestige classes, NPCs suitable for cohorts and such, and other neat stuff.
Hungry Little Monsters
The second multiauthor charity book from Sean K Reynolds Games. A collection of monsters using existing body-shape "archetypes" such as "fiend," "corpse," "spirit," and so on, which means you can use existing miniatures or tokens for them. Includes a PDF of tokens for the monsters in the book. All proceeds go to Food For All.org, a charity that helps feed the hungry.
Lost Temple of Demogorgon
An adventure for 13th-level PCs appearing in Dungeon magazine issue #120 (March 2005).
The New Argonauts
This is the first book I self-published through Sean K Reynolds Games. Originally intended as a themed adventure based on a campaign I ran in early 2004, it grew to a 64-page sourcebook for playing mythic Greek heroes. In addition to the setting and rules, it also addresses some important issues regarding running a low-magic campaign.
Template Trove Volume I: Serpents, Spiders, & Godlings
A book from Silverthorne Games ... twenty new monster templates, most with a serpentine, arachnid, or "descended from a godly creature" theme. Several are appropriate for use on PCs. Available now in PDF and in print from RPGnow.com. You can find the web enhancement (more templates, more sample creatures, and deities writeups of gods mentioned in the book and web enhancement) here (to unlock it you need a password found on the title page of the Template Troves book). You can check out a preview/demo of the book by clicking the DEMO button on the product page .
Anger of Angels
A book from Malhavoc Press covering rules and background info on angels and running a campaign involving angels (whether as significant NPCs or as actual PCs). A lot of new feats, stats for classical angels such as seraphim, cherubim, and ophanim, maps and descriptions of Heaven and Hell, rules for Falling (as in, an angel falling and becoming a fiend), four new angel-related organizations, prestige classes for angels with special tasks (such as angels of death), new spells from Heaven and Hell, and some new demons and other strange monsters, too. Available now in PDF and coming December 2003 in print. Follow this link for previews, excerpts, and web enhancements for this book.
Path of the Magi
A book from Troll Lord Games about a wizard academy, zodiac magic, zodiac feats, and a bunch of spells and prestige classes. Here is a chat about the book with myself, one of the other authors, and one of the Troll Lord guys. Follow the link for a couple of previews of material from the book (including a number of feats I wrote).
Ghostwalk
Formerly known under the code name of "Project G," this is the "campaign option" book that Monte Cook and I wrote. I really had a good time writing it, as it was the first book that I was really allowed to break new ground and do a lot of innovative stuff without worrying about existing canonical material for a setting (since it was technically its own setting, though it can be dropped into an existing setting). Here is a collection of info that's been revealed about this book so far. Probably my last wotC product.
Here is an interview with Monte and I about the book.
This is an excerpt of some of the ghost feats.
Here is the web enhancement for the book.
Here is WotC art gallery for the book.
Here is WotC map gallery for the book.
Here is the long-awaited update that brings the book up to D&D 3.5 and includes the official map of the nearby countries.
Unapproachable East
A regional sourcebook for the Forgotten Realms, covering Aglarond, Rashemen, Thay, and Thesk. A lot of great info for running a campaign in those places (rather than just a one-shot visit), with new spells, feats, magic items, and prestige classes for those regions. Probably my last FR product. Here is a link to the WotC site for a map gallery from the book.
Fiend Folio
More monsters for D&D, with a focus on outsiders. This book contains several "pick-ups" of monsters I wrote for the Living Greyhawk Journal magazine. So if you missed my writeups of the blood golem of Hextor, crypt thing, necrophidius, and swordwraith, pick up this book.
Races of Faerun
Detailed historical and personality info about the major races of the world of the Forgotten Realms, including outlook on life, why they choose certain gods, pets, feats, equipment, spells, and magic items. Here is an article I wrote on saurials, a dinosaurlike race from the Forgotten Realms. Originally a Dragon article, it was converted to the WotC website as a tie-in to this book.
Savage Species
How to play monsters as PCs. Not the crappy 2E version, but actual mechanics, like if you want to play an ogre or a mind flayer at 1st level, new feats & spells to enhance monster abilities, ECLs for all Monster Manual creatures, and so on. Note: Even though I don't have a cover credit on this book, and my credit on the title page is "additional design by," I actually wrote about 50 pages of material for this book, as well as doing development work on the spells section. The error in my credits was an oversight by WotC and they're going to correct it when the book goes to reprint. I'm saying it here so y'all know I actually worked on the book (I believe in giving credit where credit is due).
Skreyn's Register: The Bonds of Magic
My first book for Malhavoc Press. The first volume, Cabal, is a PDF of 25 arcane spellcasters, each with a new feat, spell or magic item. The second volume, The Faithful, is a PDF of 25 divine spellcasters, each also with a new feat, spell, or magic item. The print version (combining the two PDFs) is also available.
Monster Manual II
More monsters for D&D. This book contains a couple of "pick-ups" of monsters I wrote for the Living Greyhawk Journal magazine. Unfortunately I wasn't credited for them. So if you missed my writeups of the dune stalker and sons of Kyuss (aka "spawn of Kyuss") pick up this book.
Swords Into Plowshares
The multiauthor charity book I coordinated to benefit the National Geographic Society's Afghan Girls Fund. Monte Cook, myself, and other prominent RPG industry authors, editors, and artists collaborated to make this book of magic weapons possible. This is a PDF-only release and all proceeds went to charity. Originally available from RPGnow, its sales declined enough (as all books do, eventually) that I took it down as a for-sale book and now offer it for free here on my site (scroll to the 4/10/04 entry). As of 1/15/04 when I took the for-sale file down, it was #33 on the RPGnow bestsellers list.
The Silver Marches
The first 3E D&D regional sourcebook for the Forgotten Realms. It covers the part of the world called (duh) the Silver Marches, a frontier country recently unified and dealing with its share of political and monster problems. I wrote the original giant-killer prestige class in this book (it was cut from the FR Campaign Setting for space reasons), but since I don't have a copy I'm not sure if I got credit for it or not. I also wrote theweb enhancement for this book.
Faiths & Pantheons
The definitive 3E D&D book on deities for the Forgotten Realms. Also includes writeups on the dwarven, elven, and so on deities for D&D, even if you don't play FR. I was the developer on this book, which meant I fixed rules problems and made sure the book synched up with established FR material. web enhancement, which I wrote.
Lords of Darkness
A book on various evil organizations in the Forgotten Realms. Has new spells, prestige classes, pregenerated NPCs of various levels, and so on. Here's the web enhancement and an excerpt from it.
Magic of Faerûn
New magic items, new spells, new feats, new prestige classes, all set in the Forgotten Realms setting but useable in any campaign. Here's the web enhancement for it and an excerpt from it.
Pool of Radiance: Attack on Myth Drannor
An adventure in a ruined elven city, and has ties to the upcoming computer game. Here's the web enhancement/author's notes for the adventure.
Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting
The 320-page campaign setting for the D&D game.
Here's a web enhancement (short descriptions of all of the other deities that didn't get half-page writeups) for the book. Also check out Fang, Beak, and Claw, an adventure I wrote for the the book but was cut out because we were running out of room. Oh, and here's the errata.
Into the Dragon's Lair
A Forgotten Realms adventure where you're trying to find the lair of a slain dragon in the aftermath of regicide.
Monster Manual, D&D 3rd edition
The core book of monsters for D&D. I wrote several of them.
Living Greyhawk Gazetteer
The campaign setting book for Greyhawk in the new edition of the game, and not coincidentally the core book for the Living Greyhawk campaign run by the RPGA. I wrote the deities chapter.
